Kaiya’s “Sweet 16”

For Kaiya’s “Sweet 16th” birthday, her mom ordered three different cakes and matching cookie favors! They planned the party to have an elegant and classy theme – colors were light blue, coral, black, white, ivory and gold. The birthday girl chose the designs of the cakes using Pinterest for inspiration, of course (;  I must say – she has great taste!

This first cake was small and dainty – I really liked the different sized tiers and the pop of color with the big coral flower right in front. The cake flavor was chocolate with cookies ‘n’ cream buttercream filling.

This next cake was a little more classic – I liked the clean look of black and white stripes. The bow added that pop of coral again, and a little “bling’ to finish it off (: The flavor of this cake was lemon with vanilla bean buttercream filling.

The third cake was to resemble a gift box! The color scheme for this one was ivory and gold. I embellished the cake with little white sugar flowers and personalized it with a gift tag (: The cake flavor was vanilla bean with vanilla bean buttercream filling.

Here are the matching cookie favors! I decided to match them to the two tiered cakes and then added a pop of the “gift box” gold with little sugar flowers! (The “R” is for “Rakaiya”, her full name) (;

Happy sweet 16th birthday, Kaiya!! Thank you for letting me be a part of the fun (: I really enjoyed creating these pretty cakes!
