Lauren and AJ were married at Wind in the Willows in Grantville, PA this June. The grounds and the barn at Wind in the Willows are absolutely beautiful and create the perfect “rustic yet elegant” setting for a wedding.
Their color scheme was blush pink, white and Penn State navy blue. To decorate, they used a lot of burlap, lace and fresh flowers. I loved all of the “personal touches” and fun details the couple incorporated into the reception area in the barn…
I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of how this game played out…haha. What a fun idea!
For dessert, Lauren and AJ had a cupcake bar for their guests as well as a tiered cake.
The cupcake flavors were: berry swirl cake with vanilla bean buttercream, lemon cake with strawberry jam & strawberry buttercream, and chocolate cake with cookies ‘n’ cream buttercream. The cupcakes were decorated with little sugar flowers I made in their wedding colors and Penn State flags that Lauren and her sister-in-law, Amber made. The little signs they had on the display were super cute too.
The tiered cake was displayed on a beautiful barrel the venue provides – and I absolutely loved the custom-made wood stand that was made for Lauren & AJ…
The flowers were provided by Shade of Pink Wedding Flowers and they were STUNNING! If you ask me, fresh flowers are the perfect embellishment for a rustic buttercream-iced cake :)
Lauren’s (now) sister-in-law, Amber, is a photographer (you can check out more of her work here) and has allowed me to share some of the photos she took prior to the reception… :-)
Congratulations Lauren & AJ!!
It was a pleasure working with you! :)
