This cake was for a dear friend who is moving back to Ohio in a few weeks. We got a group of ladies together to celebrate her before she makes the big move. We are going to miss her so much!
The flavor was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream. That’s Marguerite’s favorite :-)
Marguerite loves high heel shoes, so I knew I wanted to include shoes in the design of the cake. The first pair of heels I saw her wear were actually this really awesome pair of purple high HIGH heels..You’d have to see them to understand, haha. So the ones I made for the cake were in memory of those great shoes – I made a very mini version :)
Here we are with the cake!
And here’s a nice group shot :)
Thank you to Katie for being such an amazing hostess (she’s the best!), and Melissa for the delicious appetizer and sangria :)
To my fabulous friend, Marguerite – I love you and am going to miss you so much! But a best friend is always a best friend, no matter the distance in between – so this is not “goodbye” cake, it’s an “I’m going to miss you until I see you again” cake ;) xoxo
This past weekend I got to work with a great bride who knew exactly what she wanted and was wonderful to work with. Her colors were champagne, plum purple and black – very elegant. The theme was romantic and rustic.
Here is a close-up on the cake topper that the couple cut into…
I really liked these colors together – especially the delicate white lace on top of champage shade.
The top cake flavor was vanilla bean with raspberry preserves and buttercream filling. The cupcake flavors were raspberry swirl with white chocolate buttercream and marble with peanut butter buttercream.
I also loved their centerpieces and all the flower accents everywhere – just beautiful!
Congratulations Meaghan and Drew!
Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day :-)
Here’s a sweet little wedding cake I made for an intimate wedding this weekend. I loved the “wisteria” purple color! The bride designed the cake herself – flavor was chocolate cake with vanilla bean buttercream.
Last weekend, I had the privilege of making an anniversary cake for a very sweet married couple. The cake was small and dainty and oh-so-cute (:
