MOTHER’S DAY sweets! I always try to plan ahead for this holiday so that I can make sure to have lots of cookies for the wonderful “Motherly” women in my life… My mother-in-law is great, we not only get along … Continue reading
Lyndsay and Sebastian’s wedding was held at the Stirling Guest Hotel in Reading, Pennsylvania. This venue reminded me of an old enchanted castle.
It was a very rainy day, but they were able to get outside for a little bit to take some pictures…I took a quick picture of them running across the street, holding a cute bridal umbrella over the bride to shield her from the rain… :-)
Cocktail Hour was held outside on the gorgeous front “porch”. I imagine this was a very nice spot to sit and watch the rain fall.
The ceremony and reception were both held inside. It was really neat how everything was set up in the different rooms. The walls and ceilings all had such ornate decorations and it felt like you were in someone’s home having a very intimate dinner.
The couple chose to do a cupcake tier complete with 5 different flavor combinations – vanilla bean cake with raspberry buttercream, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, almond cake with vanilla bean buttercream, berry swirl cake with lemon buttercream, and apple cake with salted caramel buttercream. A great selection for their 100+ guests!
The cutting cake on top was berry swirl cake with lemon buttercream.
Congratulations, Lyndsay and Sebastian! :-)
This was a special 21st birthday cake that Kathy’s mother, Elaine, ordered for her. She wanted the cake to be elegant but still a little whimsical and fun for a 21st birthday. The color scheme was based on some beautiful damask patterned decorations Elaine was using for the party. She spent a lot of time planning and preparing to make it a special surprise for her daughter. I was so happy to bring her cake “vision” to life! The flavors were vanilla bean cake with peanut butter buttercream, chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and buttercream, and vanilla bean cake with strawberry buttercream. Yum!
Happy 21st Birthday, Kathy!
This past weekend I got to work with a great bride who knew exactly what she wanted and was wonderful to work with. Her colors were champagne, plum purple and black – very elegant. The theme was romantic and rustic.
Here is a close-up on the cake topper that the couple cut into…
I really liked these colors together – especially the delicate white lace on top of champage shade.
The top cake flavor was vanilla bean with raspberry preserves and buttercream filling. The cupcake flavors were raspberry swirl with white chocolate buttercream and marble with peanut butter buttercream.
Congratulations Meaghan and Drew!
Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day :-)
